I feel like it's about time I reveal a big reason why things have been so slow when it comes to my art and comics. My family is moving. To tell the truth we have been planning said move for awhile, however things weren't 100% certain until recently (lots of things to finalize when moving).

Most of my time outside of my day job has been spent helping to pack things up, going through and clearing out stuff throughout the house, amongst other things. It's been pretty stressful, so I hope you can understand why I've been too pooped to draw lately for the most part.

The good news is the new house we're moving to is going to be much bigger, thus I'll have a bigger room thus more space to work. So I'll be finally able to get a new art desk that's more spacious and fun, well, at least as fun as I'm able to afford at least. Naturally it's gonna take some time for me to get settled and I'll be going on a vacation with my family soon after the move is done (we all need some time to relax after this), so it will be awhile before I'll be able to start a new day job (not to mention the time it takes to find one).

So while I'm normally not the type to beg for donations (well, I wouldn't say this is begging as it's not like I'm in big trouble, more like I'm politely asking), I would appreciate it if you would donate to my Ko-fi page. Every dollar would go to me helping to pay for various necessities as well as saving up for a fancy new workstation and even a new desktop if I can get enough.

I do plan on starting a new Ko-fi Drive and opening more commission slots soon, but since the move isn't set to happen until around the end of July, that won't be for awhile. If you're unable to donate at this moment, please feel free to spread the word by reblogging and sharing this post.

Thanks for all your support, I hope I can get back to making fun cartoony stuff for you all to enjoy soon.

People keep saying to cartoon creators who want to make an animated series “just go indie”, but it isn’t that easy. If it was, everybody would be going indie. Every so often I get a message asking me to just make an animated series, as if I was always able to do that but just didn’t for some reason. If I were able to do that we’d already be past Think Ink episode 100.

Animation is expensive as hell with everything that’s involved with it, not just the visuals, but also the music, voice acting, and everything else involved with the production. It takes around 9 months to a year to complete one full-length episode of an animated TV show, and that’s with a major studio sized crew backing it. Not to say an Indie studio can’t pull it off, but it’s extremely difficult to do so and it’s much rarer than you would think. Plus not every creator has the knowhow to run their own studio/company, which is a whole other kettle of fish itself.

The current main method of going to a big-time studio/TV Network to greenlight your show isn’t perfect, but many creators still go with it because those companies have the one thing creators often lack…
